This speaker explains “the race to bottom” clearly. We need to pay attention, for the stakes are higher than ever. We must find a way for the better angels of our nature to prevail over our powerful negative human tendencies.
And, I learned a bunch about Moloch, a biblical reference to “the race to the bottom.” Also, that this has everything to do with the “tragedy of the commons” and other human tendencies where we do not seek the common good.
I find this a personal critique of our we operate as a species, as a country, as a regional culture, as a health system, as a clinical unit or clinic, and as individuals.
